Synopsis: Anoushka Ratnarajah grew up in a mixed-race family in a conservative town plagued with racial discrimination where questions like “what are you?” and “where are you from?” were part of her daily existence. After her Sri Lankan grandmother passes it becomes more difficult to connect to the culture she was separated from. Through their grief, Anoushka and her father take an unforgettable first journey to the place of their homeland to meet the family they never knew they had and uncover the distant parts of their heritage.
